Ephesians 3:1-13

Rulers & Authorities in the Heavenly Places

• These are spiritual forces.
• Christ created and rules over these forces. 
• God is displaying his wisdom to these and to all creation. 

God displays his wisdom through the church.

• ​Local Congregations - Mixed groups of Christians and Non-Christians in varying states of spiritual maturity. 
• Universal Church - All those saved by faith in Jesus
• The church displays the results of God’s saving work.
  
• The church displays and proclaims how God saves. 
  
• The church displays and proclaims who God saves. 
  
• The church is God’s plan to reveal his incredible wisdom! 
  
• Paul’s Example: Ephesians 3:1-2 – Ephesians 3:7-8 – Ephesians 3:13
  
• Paul considered the ministry of the gospel a gift despite suffering.
  
• Paul was committed to serving the church with personal sacrifice. 
  
• Paul loved the church even when he had to correct it!

Working for God’s Glory

• Strive to think and speak well of the church. See God’s work.
• Seek to build up the church through evangelism and service
  
• Consider formal church membership as a way to make the church visible. 
  
• Guard the unity of the church.
